The origin of Mardi Gras dates back to the European Medieval times in France but it was officially celebrated in America in 1703 and the rest is history. The popularity of the event has expanded to the rest of the United States with many Americans taking a trip to celebrate in Louisiana. This year Mardi Gras will be celebrated on March 1, 2022. However, if you are unable to travel for any reason, we have created a list of how to join in the celebrations from anywhere!
Get your Cajun meal covered. Seafood is a big part of Cajun cuisine and the Mardi Gras celebration. Get your beads! Make it a party by wearing beads in the traditional colors of Mardi Gras. Purple which stands for Justice. Green which stands for Faith. Yellow which stands for Power. Lucky for you! If you order any of our kits the weekend prior to Mardi Gras, we will throw in some free beads!
Get your drinks! Some popular Mardi Gras drinks are the Hurricane cocktail and a Cajun Bloody Mary. Try our Michelada Mix which is essentially a Bloody Mary Mix. You can add your favorite spirit to make it a Bloody Mary or add your favorite beer to make it a Michelada, the choice is yours!
